As you pass through the reserve gates you immediately get an overview of the flora and fauna that reside in Tabin and a taste of the hand-crafted wood carvings that provide both attractive décor and useful overviews throughout the Resort. The Visitor Centre is the check-in point for the resort and also provides secure storage, sundries shop, a small library/book store and communication facilities. click thumbnails to see enlarged images |

Along the Lipad River hillside the Tabin Wildlife Resort has five Deluxe and five Superior Chalets and there are ten Cabin Lodges immediately adjacent to the river (Plate 2). The resort is nestled among the rivers and trees that characterise Tabin. They are constructed in Bornean timber style with ensuite toilet and shower facilities. All have the wide porches and large windows necessary for feeling at one with the environment whilst still enjoying the comfort of aesthetically pleasing shelter. All are fan-cooled and well secured with screens to ensure comfort. |

Buildings are connected by a well constructed network of boardwalks that connect to the Lipad Café which is open daily and can serve set and á la carte local and international cuisine and provide bar service to as many as 100 people. For those who prefer a more rustic approach to forest living Tabin provides several platforms where tents can be erected. There are also campsites along Tabin’s trails; notably at the edge of the Virgin Jungle Reserve in the Core Area. |

The builders of the Tabin Wildlife Resort have made a special effort to integrate the resort with surrounding habitats. Buildings and walkways are built around trees rather than displacing trees. Effective power, sewage, water and waste disposal systems minimise pollution. |
