Cats - Civet cats are common in Tabin. Clouded leopards (lower right) can occasionally be seen and there are populations of small jungle cats such as leopard cats (middle) and spotted cats. These animals can be seen during night safaris and can sometimes be approached quite closely. Deer - The most commonly seen deer in Tabin are sambar deer such as this mother and fawn (lower left). Mouse deer (middle left) are sometimes seen. Other mammals that are seen in Tabin include several squirrel species (e.g. Prevost’s squirrel upper left); the pangolin (top middle); three species of porcupine including the thick-spined porcupine (upper right) and mustelids including the binturong (middle right). |
